Vikas visited the Marchionni Lab as a medical student to further his knowledge in Bioinformatics and lear the practical use of the R computing environment. He has continued to pursue similar projects upon his return to India. After completing Medical School, Vikas worked as a Research Scholar in the Department of Surgery, University of Pittsburgh, and he is currently working as a Surgical Resident in New Delhi, India.
